Our History

Corsi: over 50 years of history

I have seen the birth of the motorways….”

(Francesco Corsi)

The Corsi family has been in the shipping business for more than 50 years, starting in 1960 when Francesco Corsi personally began driving a “Leoncino” truck on domestic routes (Verona-Milan-Genoa, Verona-Livorno, Verona-Venice-Trieste).

In 1965 the first shipments began from Verona to Chiasso and later to Geneva.

In the early seventies Francesco began transporting fruit, vegetables and food to Austria and Germany (Innsbruck-Munich-Stuttgart-Frankfurt) during a period when the Italian motorway system had not yet been completed. “I have seen the birth of motorways in Italy…”

In the meantime Francesco Corsi began to establish commercial relationships throughout Italy and started an international foodstuff groupage center in the Verona area: “I treated customers personally, one by one, without brokers or agencies. I supported and provided services to customers when everyone else was saying that customers had to fend for themselves.”

Corsi s.n.c. was established during the eighties and the sons of Francesco: first Giacomo and Franco and later Claudio tread in the footsteps of the father and made his teachings come true.

Corsi s.n.c. took on the structure of a modern and efficient company, creating its own logistics center in the intermodal freight terminal of Verona, and, ahead of its competition, creating the first modern hub grouping foodstuff products for the German market.

During the decade 2001-2010 Corsi changes its corporate structure to that of an S.p.A. (public limited company) and flanks its transport services with goods handling services (goods transshipment at transit points) and storage (controlled temperature storage including below-zero storage) of foodstuff.

At the same time Corsi opened a sales and logistics office in Apulia (Taranto) to bring commercial relations with the southern regions of Italy closer to the markets of northern Europe.

Today Corsi S.p.A is a modern and efficient company with over 50 years of history, ready to meet the challenges of the future.
